Dr. Aishwarya Pandit Sharma, Chairperson of the ITV Foundation, is a distinguished academic specializing in history and law. A first-class graduate in History from Miranda House, University of Delhi (2008), she pursued a Master’s in the History of International Relations at the London School of Economics (2008-2009) and completed her PhD at the University of Cambridge in 2015. Her doctoral research, titled “From United Provinces to Uttar Pradesh: Heartland Politics, 1947-1970,” examined the political dynamics of Uttar Pradesh post-partition, with a focus on center-province relations and the impact of property laws on Muslim society. Her current work explores the evolution of waqf and evacuee property laws during the 1970s and 1980s, offering critical insights into their socio-political implications. She has also contributed to academia as a Visiting Faculty at IIM Indore (2016-2017).
